Updated: Aug 12, 2023

Do you still roll with your cardboard cut out of your packet of rolling papers or with the end of a cigarette as a filter?

You don't yet know the activated carbon filters of the brand "Actitube"?

If so, this article is for you!

Summary

1/ What is an "Actitube"?

This is a cigarette filter that contains activated carbon inside.

These filters purifiers provide a better experience for all cannabis smokers.

Filter for evrybody !
Activated carbon filters Actitube 6mm, 7mm and 8mm

They are very popular for joints, pipes or bongs because they effectively filter toxic substances (tars, additives...) while allowing enough smoke to pass through to fill the lungs.

The must for smoking weed like hash.

2 / Are there several sizes of Actitube?

Yes, there are 3 sizes of "Actitube" filters, classified from the lowest filtration level

to the highest:

The best size to roll grass joints easy

6mm extra slim full flavor: the novelty

These filters are recommended forsmall beds. (to prevent them from clogging)

The 8mm filters are

particularly used in a special pipe, designed to integrate a carbon filter.

They then make it possible to consume 100% "pure".

3 / What is the lifespan of the Actitube filter?

Single use to preserve all the aromas and all the efficiency of the filtration system.

Replace the filters with each new cigarette.

These filters are therefore not reusable, (you can try but the taste is no longer there...).

4 / Is there a way to insert the filter?

All activated carbon filters can be inserted either way.

5 / How is an Actitube filter made?

- activated carbon inside the filter (100% natural for the purification of fine particles)

- 2 ceramic tips

- cardboard

100% bio-degradable

After listing the characteristics of these filters, let's move on to the reasons why I replaced my old "Moroccans" or "toncar" with "Actitube" activated carbon filters.

6 / The 5 good reasons to smoke with an "Actitube" filter

  • 1 / Improving the impact of combustion on your health

protect your lungs with an Actitube filter

On combustion of a spliff, the following is released:

- toxic gases (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, hydrocyanic acid, ammonia...)

- heavy metals (cadmium, lead, chromium, mercury...)

The Actitube carbon filter will limit the entry of these pollutants into the body.

It's the perfect compromise between the foam filter that filters too much and the famous toncar that lets everything through.

This can be an intermediate step before moving on to vaping, or a first step to quit smoking, for example.

  • 2 / Increase the flavor of your joint without diminishing its effects

The porous surface of the activated carbon will retain as much poop as possible, but let all the flavors through.

With these filters, all cannabinoids and terpenes are preserved.

Incredible result since not only do you feel the TRUE taste of your CBD weed for the first time, but in addition you enjoy all its benefits!

We realize then that the old traditional "toncs" really had a bad taste!

  • 3 / Being able to smoke until the end without burning your fingers

The problem with good old "toncs" is that they tend toheat up easily.

As a result, the cardboard becomes very hot, sometimes burning, releasing all the toxic vapours it contains.

On the other hand, activated carbon filters do not heat up much.

By using an Actitube, you can savor your joint until the end without burning your fingers...and your lungs!

  • 4 / Limit the "hit" when drawing

Better known in the field of vaping, the hit is the first sensation you have in your mouth when you pull on a cigarette.

It's the same thing in a combustion, you can have atight or airy draw.

The use of an Actitube activated carbon filter corresponds to a more aerial draw than with a Moroccan filter or a toncar.

For those who have already experienced the electronic cigarette, you will understand what it is.

  • 5 / having fun on the things you love

I thank the person who made me discover these filters, I use them systematically now.

So yes, it's true that you have to pay between 10 and 20 euro cents per Actitube, and that it can start to get expensive when you're a daily smoker...

Afterwards, it's about assuming your pleasures and telling yourself that what you put inside your spliff is already expensive and that it's a shame not to do everything possible to get it. make the most of it ;)

8 / My advice about Actitube filters

After several years of use, I am clearly convinced by these small cardboard and ceramic cigarette filters that literally change life when you want to smoke healthier, and have fun until the end of our magic cigarette.

Until now, there were no filters on the market exclusively for smoking weed. This is now done thanks to the activated carbon filters "Actitube".

Many thanks to them for filling this void. In addition, from my years of driving, I can bring you some "tips" and advice to make the most of the experience of filters for smokers "Actitube" :

-Always keep your Actitubes in a dry place.

The ideal is to use a Boveda or Integra Boost bag for all your smoking accessories (tobacco, leaves and filters) that will maintain the humidity of your filters at 62%. This will prevent the filter from clogging in the middle of your tasting.

- do not reuse filters

If you want to maintain all the filtration efficiency and preserve all the aromas, activated carbon filters are for single use.

- press your joint down on a soft surface

In order to avoid breaking the porous charcoal stones inside the filter and creating a clog, we advise you to pack your bedos on your fingernail, on a notebook...(not on a lighter as we had used to do...)

- pull more gently on your joint.

You can "shoot big hits" but these filters work best by pulling less intense, but longer puffs.

Conclusion

That's it, I hope that these few lines will help you understand the interest of activated carbon filters and make you want to test them.

There are other brands that manufacture the same filters (OCB, Giza...) but I recommend the German brand "Actitube" who are the inventors of this type of filters and that I find better for my part... Maybe I'm too used to it ah ah!

In any case, I am convinced that we all have to grow by sharing information on the subject!
